Manitoba’s Vermicomposting Specialists!
Vermicomposting is the process of composting using worms. In fact, in Latin, the word “vermi” means “worms”. You can use worms to convert household kitchen wastes into excellent plant fertilizer, using a special worm called a red wriggler (eisenia foetida).
The red wriggler will live happily in a closed container in your home, consuming kitchen wastes, and turning them into a rich fertilizer that you can use on your house plants and in your gardens.
This is a clean, environmentally friendly way to stop tonnes of waste from going to our over-burdoned landfill sites. Vermicomposting is a fun and easy way to help make the earth a healthier place. That’s a job we all need to think about doing!
“It may be doubted whether there are many other animals which have played so important a part in the history of the world as have these lowly organised creatures” – Charles Darwin (1809 – 1882)
